Nothing But Reviews

After months of not knowing when my other blog would go up, I have finally managed to publish my first review post today.  Woohoo!  Thank goodness for long weekends. :D

I know you'd probably be wondering what will happen to this blog and to my other one in Tumblr. Well, I did say at some point that managing 2-3 blogs may be challenging... but, if anything, what would make each blog succeed depends largely on the material. I can say that all my 3 blogs feature unique posts thus I think I'm going to be fine. However, with this, comes the realization that I'm going to say hello to some more sleepless nights because if I do intend to keep all 3 blogs running, thinking about new material will keep me pre-occupied.

While I still have a lot to do with my new blog, I'm happy to join a gazillion other bloggers who have chosen WordPress. If you'd like to check out my new blog, which will feature mostly reviews, click here.

P.S.  As I was about to finish this post, I noticed that two bloggers liked my first review.  How's that for some encouragement? Nice indeed! :)

The Girl With The Untrained Eye

A good number of my friends in my social networks fell in love with Tumblr. At the time I learned of it, I already have accounts on similar sites that I didn't find the need to create one.  I didn't see any difference plus I couldn't think of a good use for it. I mean, I have Twitter, Plurk and Facebook for my fits of fangirling... and I have Blogger, LiveJournal and WordPress to serve my blogging needs... Why go on Tumblr?

Well, I stumbled upon Brittani Kline's Tumblr account (which seems to be deactivated now) while I was trying to put myself to sleep by doing some random googling (yes, it's my online version of channel surfing).  I liked how she created her site: it had a mesh of photos and all things about her life after winning America's Next Top Model Cycle 16. Another random google search revealed that Katie Leung (a.k.a. Cho Chang from the Harry Potter movies) also has a Tumblr account in which she posts all the photos she has taken.  I remembered that she pursued her interest in photography after filming the movies and I love what she posted so far.  Then, it clicked: I felt the need to create an account and use it as my photo blog.  Aside from reading books, I consider photography to be my other love.  While I wouldn't call myself a professional, my photographer friends constantly tease me to get a DSLR because of the shots I've taken; some of which are featured on the banner for this site and they were not taken using a DSLR.

Armed with that resolve, it took me around 30 minutes to create everything -- from the blog title to the first post -- and I felt happy after.  To date, I've posted around 9 photos and even changed the site's layout.  This is what my Tumblr blog looks like:

I guess it is safe to say that I will constantly update my Tumblr as often as I could.  I still have a good number of photos in my archives that I haven't shared and I don't think I'll ever stop taking them.  So if you have a Tumblr account, you can follow me here. And if you're curious about my title for this blog post, click here.

Now, what to do with my WordPress account... Hmmm... =P

Starting Another One At LiveJournal

I created an account for the sake of reading a Twilight fanfic at first. I wasn't seriously thinking of using it for any other purpose than that -- befriending people who have written good Twilight fanfics. Until a friend convinced me to have a closer look and try it out. I never regretted it although I'm still somewhat fumbling my way through.

Does this mean that I'll abandon this blog? Nope, I wouldn't. I love it here. However, my all-too cryptic style of writing (if you haven't guessed it from the way I write my entries) can pose a challenge to my composition skills. This is after all a public blog. For all intents and purposes, whatever I say here can and may be used in court... Okay, off-topic and ridiculous thought but I'm guessing you got my drift. =]

Well, for those who are not familiar with LiveJournal, the thing that I love the most is the freedom to choose who you share your post with. It can be made public (Google-worthy), limited to your LJ friends or completely kept private like a diary. Another thing that I love is that you can upload up to 15 avatars so that you have the freedom to choose one to suit your journal mood. It has the same features like any typical blogsite thus, the transition for me was easy in terms of posting entries. It's the customizations that can get tricky especially if you're used to, like me, in blogger.

For now, I've posted a couple of friend-only entries and I've shared some comments in the communities I watch. It's been fun. If you're thinking about expanding your blogging universe, I highly recommend that you try LiveJournal.
